Fluorinated PEEK and XLPE as Promising Insulation Candidates for the Propulsion System of All-electric Aircraft

This article investigates the surface electrical properties of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) before after fluorination modification. The samples are tested for conductivity, morphology, antiaging characteristics. also flashover voltage with ramping under 100, 20, 10 kPa. results showed that surfaces PEEK XLPE become slightly smoother increase in time conductivity increased time. After fluorination, shows significant hydrophilicity, while hydrophobicity is reduced, there a trend recovery extension performance significantly improved. Compared untreated samples, fluorinated has higher at 100 kPa, 20 downward trend, especially low pressures. study provides reference polymers as promising candidates insulation systems all-electric aircraft.
